Liminary

Liminary is an early-stage AI startup based in Seattle focused on building intelligent browser-based tools that enhance everyday productivity. The flagship product is a Chrome extension that leverages large language models to assist users directly within their existing workflows.

The company operated in stealth mode through much of its existence, pursuing a product-led approach to AI tooling that prioritized seamless integration and user experience over hype. I was part of a small, technically ambitious team that moved fast to validate product-market fit while maintaining a high bar for code quality and architecture.

As a 0-to-1 startup, Liminary gave me the opportunity to define frontend architecture from scratch and build the technical foundation for a product category that was rapidly evolving alongside advances in AI capabilities.

Key Achievements

  • Architected and maintained the Liminary app across 3 product surfaces (Chrome extension, web app, and injectable page overlays), authoring ~50% of the frontend codebase for an AI-powered research tool in a team of 4.
  • Built AI-powered product features including streaming LLM response handling, prompt interface design, and embedding-based retrieval, delivering a research tool that achieved 20x DAU growth during early beta.
  • Restructured and stabilized a noisy, regression-prone codebase, reducing regressions by ~90% over 10 months through systematic refactoring and migration from JavaScript to TypeScript.
