Daily Harvest

Daily Harvest is a direct-to-consumer food company founded in 2015 by Rachel Drori that delivers pre-portioned, plant-based frozen meals (smoothies, harvest bowls, flatbreads, and snacks) directly to customers' doors. The company carved out a new category in the DTC food space by combining health-forward ingredients with the convenience of a subscription model.

Backed by over $100M in venture funding from investors including Serena Williams, Daily Harvest scaled rapidly and was named to Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list. At its peak, the company shipped over 100 million items to customers across the United States, operating a complex supply chain that spanned sourcing, production, and last-mile delivery.

I worked on the engineering team supporting a high-traffic e-commerce platform serving tens of thousands of subscribers. The frontend was undergoing a significant transition from Angular to React during this period, requiring careful architectural decisions around shared state management, component reuse, and incremental migration strategies.

Key Achievements

  • Drove a full Angular-to-React migration for a high-traffic DTC e-commerce platform, doubling developer velocity and unblocking the team to ship faster across multiple product lines.
  • Built a framework-agnostic Redux state bridge that allowed Angular and React components to share application state during the migration, enabling incremental adoption without rewrites or data duplication.
